The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is dedicated to help children and their families by providing the right services and solutions based on individual needs. CFCE is constantly evolving to better support our community. CFCE expanded in early 2012 to include a health care center, The Pediatric & Family Health and Wellness Center.
The Pediatric & Family Health and Wellness Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), offers an array of preventative health services including but not limited to: general and sick care for adults and children, OB/GYN, dental services, nutrition programs and mental health and substance abuse treatment for children and adults.
As a Dental Hygienist, you will educate patients on oral hygiene, examine oral areas for signs of oral disease and clean teeth.

Some of the Functions Include:
- Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments.
- Examines gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Feels lymph nodes under patients chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate the presence of oral cancer.
- Applies fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
- Exposes and develops x-ray film.
- Records and reviews patient medical histories. Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
- Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments.
- Provides clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public.
Minimum Education
- Associates degree or the successful completion of a recognized vocational program in dental hygiene.
- State license required.
- Knowledge of general principles of dentistry and advanced knowledge of dental hygiene.
- Strong customer service skills.
