The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is dedicated to help children and their families by providing the right services and solutions based on individual needs. CFCE is constantly evolving to better support our community.

As a Home Study Specialist, you will be responsible to conduct home assessments of potential non-licensed caregivers. The Home Study Specialist will be a child welfare profession that will collect and access information to determine if the potential caregiver(s) will be able to care for and protect a child placed in their care.

Some of the Functions Include:

Obtain assess, and document background checks in accordance with CFOP 170-1, Chapter 6.
Conduct abuse history checks, complete assessment detailing impact of history on the safety and well-being of children being considered for placement.
Collect child-specific information to determine if the potential caregiver(s) will be able to care for and protect an identified child or sibling group.
Gather and document data in FSFN utilizing the different tabs ensuring that all pertinent information is included.
Submit the completed home-study after the caregiver(s) review/signature with recommendation for supervisor review and approval within 30 days of assignment. If there are barriers preventing submission within specified timeframe, a detailed account of the barriers and progress updates will be submitted weekly until completion.

Minimum Education/Experience

Active Florida CWCM Certification
Bachelors Degree in human services or related field
Minimum of two-years’ experience in providing services to families
